AP Calculus BC

From Limits to Series. One Clear Path.
A 20-session, live online program for students preparing for the AP Calculus BC Exam.
AP Calculus BC moves quickly through some of the most challenging material in high school mathematics. Avenir Prep gives students a clear path through the course with live small-group sessions, expert instruction, individualized feedback, regular assessments, and focused AP exam preparation.
The course is taught by David Roessler, a Princeton senior studying Financial Engineering and Mathematics. By teaching both strategy and understanding, David gives students a clear roadmap for exactly how to master the material and excel on the exam.
Groups are limited to 10 students.

Why Study AP Calculus BC with Avenir Prep?

AP Calculus BC can look deceptively straightforward from the outside: learn the derivative and integration rules, practice enough problems, and prepare for the exam.
Then the course starts moving. Limits lead into derivatives, derivatives into integrals, and familiar functions give way to differential equations, parametric and polar relationships, sequences, series, and increasingly complex applications.
The challenge isn’t simply knowing more formulas. It’s understanding why the mathematics works, recognizing which approach to use, and moving confidently between equations, graphs, tables, and verbal descriptions.
That’s where expert guidance changes the experience.
With Avenir Prep, students don’t just work through sets of calculus problems. They learn to recognize patterns, connect concepts, diagnose mistakes, choose efficient strategies, and communicate mathematical reasoning clearly on AP-style questions.
Avenir students understand the math, solve unfamiliar problems, and excel on the AP exam.
Meet the Instructor

David Roessler brings exceptional quantitative ability, teaching experience, and a genuine love of mathematical problem solving to Avenir Prep’s AP Calculus BC program.
A senior at Princeton University, David studies Operations Research and Financial Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. That combination gives him a practical perspective on how mathematics is used to solve real-world problems. David also serves as a peer tutor through Princeton’s McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, helping fellow students develop deeper conceptual understanding and stronger problem-solving skills.
David’s teaching emphasizes understanding why the mathematics works, rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures. He helps students see connections among concepts, develop mathematical intuition, and build the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems.
