Avenir Prep was founded on a shared belief that meaningful achievements and strong performance are built over time. Achieving these goals requires the right combination of wellness, strategic preparation, and a disciplined approach. Drawing on decades of experience in the classroom, the emergency room, and the boardroom, we guide students in making thoughtful decisions about how they spend their time, what challenges they take on, and how they prepare for them. The result is not a collection of activities, but a coherent, authentic path built over time - one that leads to meaningful achievements, students who are more balanced and happy, and the kinds of outcomes that open doors at the highest levels.
Meet the Experts
We work closely with students and families, bringing experience, strategic guidance, and a focus on wellness to each step.
Alex comes to Avenir Prep with a strategic and disciplined perspective shaped by decades of experience in business development, product innovation, and venture building.
He earned his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Alex has held senior leadership roles at Mastercard, First Data, and Aura, where he led strategic initiatives focused on identifying opportunities, building high-impact partnerships, and guiding complex decisions that drive long-term growth.
Alex has also spent years as a coach and mentor, working closely with students across a range of academic disciplines and competitions. His students have earned multiple top national awards in competitions including the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), National History Day, Speech and Debate, First Robotics, DECA, and Latin/Certamen. He focuses on developing students’ knowledge, skills, and competitive performance over time.
At Avenir Prep, Alex helps families make thoughtful, strategic decisions about academics, competitions, and projects, ensuring that each student builds a clear, authentic, and differentiated path.
Alex Coisman

Ron brings a unique dual perspective to Avenir Prep, combining a career in emergency medicine with decades of experience coaching students at the highest levels of academic competition.
He earned his AB in Classics from Princeton University, where he also earned a teaching certificate, and his MD from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Ron has worked with students for over 30 years across a wide range of subjects, including Latin, standardized test preparation, math, and science, in settings ranging from classrooms to national seminars and through Elite Latin Coaching.
As a board-certified emergency physician, Ron has spent over two decades making critical decisions under pressure, developing a calm, structured approach to performance in high-stakes environments.
In the Latin world, Ron is a member of the National Junior Classical League Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach, having led teams to multiple national championships. This experience extends beyond competition and informs his work with students more broadly. Through his work with students, he has helped guide them to success at the highest levels of academic competition and admission to highly selective colleges.
At Avenir Prep, he focuses on helping students build strong foundations, manage stress, and perform at their highest level when it matters most.
