AP Art History covers 250 works across thousands of years, cultures, movements, and traditions. Avenir Prep gives students a clear path through the material with live small-group instruction, expert guidance, individualized feedback, and focused AP exam preparation.
The course is taught by Amanda Roessler, a Swarthmore-trained art historian with a master’s in Museum Studies from Harvard University Extension School and experience in museums and archaeology.
Groups are limited to 10 students.

Meet the Instructor
Amanda Roessler

Amanda Roessler brings an unusual combination of academic training, museum work, and teaching experience to Avenir Prep’s AP Art History program.
Amanda graduated from Swarthmore College with a double major in Art History and Classical Studies and earned her Master of Liberal Arts in Museum Studies from Harvard University Extension School. Her experience includes museum internships, work as a Collections Move Technician at the Milwaukee Public Museum, archaeological fieldwork in Tuscany, and study abroad in Rome.
Amanda has been teaching and leading academic seminars since 2020, with students earning multiple top-ten finishes, including national championships, in national classical art tests.
Students aren’t simply preparing for an exam.
They’re learning Art History from someone who has studied it, taught it, and worked with art and material culture firsthand.
